The meeting holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja is expected to afford the security chiefs the opportunity of briefing Buhari on how the increasing security challenges across the country are being tackled .

2. APC chairman declares Ajimobi’s appointment illegal, threatens lawsuit
Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado Ekiti Local Government Micheal Akinleye, has threatened legal action against the appointment of Abiola Ajimobi as Acting National Chairman.
This was contained in a letter on Wednesday to the National Working Committee (NWC) through his counsel, Tunde Oke.
3. APC crisis: Put God above your interest, Oshiomhole begs Giadom
Adams Oshiomhole, the suspended National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,
has asked the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Victor Giadom, who declared himself acting national chairman, to put God first above his personal interest.
“My plea with them is that they should put God first and put our national party’s interest second and put our democracy deep in their hearts and not try to use any externalities to destabilise our party the way it has been destabilised in Rivers State," Oshiomhole said.
4. Edo: INEC gives parties 10 days to conclude primaries
The commission said the Saturday June 27 deadline for this activity remained “firm and fixed”, as there would be no extension.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has urged political parties presenting candidates for the Edo State governorship election scheduled for September 19 , 2020, to conclude their primaries within the next 10 days .
5. Lagos to support MSMEs with N5bn stimulus
Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu, has declared that the state is developing measures to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.
Part of the measures is a further N5 billion bailout aimed at ensuring business sustainability and boosting economic growth.
Sanwo-Olu made the disclosure at a private sector interactive webinar put together by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.
He stated that the palliative would help MSMEs remain buoyant and curb job losses, assuring that a skill-acquisition internship programme, which is intended to train up to 10,000 people, will kick off soon.
6. Borno judiciary staff bags 16-year jail term for defrauding 194 widows
Borno State High Court has sentenced and convicted an ex- Borno State judicial officer, Ramat Mohammed (alias Gaddafi), to 16 years imprisonment for defrauding 194 windows of N781,800.
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Maiduguri zonal office prosecuted the convict.
7. COVID-19: Islamic group reacts as Sanwo-Olu reverses opening of churches, mosques
Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has commended the Lagos State Government on the decision to delay reopening of schools, churches and mosques.
MURIC Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, in a statement in Lagos on Thursday endorsed the decision by the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to suspend the reopening of churches and mosques. Like, share, comment and follow for more.
